Previously, he held an Alexander-von-Humboldt Research Fellowship with Gerhard Mercator University of Duisburg, Germany, as well as research positions with Tsinghua University, Beijing, National University of Singapore, Singapore, and University of Limerick, Ireland. From 1995 to 1998 he was with the Center for Space Science and Applied Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, as an Associate Professor. Since July 2007, he has been with the Institute of Communications Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Leibniz University of Hannover, Hannover, Germany, as a Wissenschaftlicher Beirat. His research interests include UWB-MIMO wireless communications, signal processing, and systems and control theory. In these areas, he published around 70 refereed journal/conference papers and a book Ultra Wideband Systems with MIMO (Wiley, 2010, with Prof. Thomas Kaiser).
